Aurora Hsu is the first in her family to venture out into the field of culinary arts. Her passion was sparked as a child when her mum showed her a simple recipe for donuts and ever since then she has been in love with patisserie. Born in Taiwan, studied in Australia, and trained in France, Aurora is a talented chef who has attended and currently holds a certification of Advance Diploma of hospitality management of Patisserie from the prestigious world renown Le Cordon Bleu Brisbane, and in addition also personally experienced and learnt from different cultures’ flavour gaining a high-level of pastry skills.
She started selling cakes to her friends as a side hustle at first hoping to make some pocket money while studying in Brisbane, but she succeeded further than she had imagined. People she didn’t know were reaching out to her through social media and requesting for her cakes and that was when she knew she wanted to take this business farther. However, she decided to leave for Paris and intern at InterContinental Paris Le Grand to improve herself to the next level.
As of August 2020 she has returned! Older, wiser, and more experienced after living and working in Paris and training with some of the industry’s top pastry chefs including Sophie de Bernardi. Aurora x Patisserie aims to cater to ALL clients whether they want to order a cake from the seasonal menu or collaborate together and create their own personalised cake.
